Scrip is simply a retailer's cash or (gift) card. Each retailer offers a percentage of the purchase card to benefit the non-profit. The retailer wants YOUR business, so they pay an incentive of the purchase to the non- profit. Example: You need to purchase gas, so you buy a $100 cash card for Arco. You pay $100 for the card, you get $100 of gas from Arco but Arco donates 4% ($4.00) to the non-profit for selling a Speedway cash or gift card.
